Spectra’s Recruitment Process

At Spectra we pride ourselves in employing individuals who represent our members, credit union and communities. During the recruitment process we are looking for future staff who not only have the technical knowledge received through post secondary education or equivalent work experience but also individuals who have the motive, attitude, and behaviours that differentiates us in the workplace.

Technical Competencies

Technical competencies include knowledge, education, skills and experience. The following post secondary subject areas are beneficial for a variety of positions within our organization:

Behavioural Competencies

The first step in the recruitment process is to review the candidates technical skills presented within the resume. During the interview we focus our questions on behavioural competencies. Behavioural competencies are motives, attitudes, and behaviours that display how an individual typically behaves or reacts in a situation. During the interview we ask questions in which you tell us about a specific situation from within the last 12 – 18 months. From these questions we are looking for what you said, your thoughts and how you reacted to the situation. This form of questioning allows us to see how an individual typically behaves or reacts in a situation and to better see if the candidates strengths meet what we require for an applicant within our organization.
