The Canadian Red Cross relief assistance for victims of the earthquake that occured in Haiti on January 12, 2010.  As many as three million people have been affected.  The chaos and confusion has left many people injured and homeless and has separated families when they need each other most.

The Red Cross is asking credit unions to help them collect donations for the victims.  Spectra Credit Union has aggreed to help collect donations.  The collection period will begin immediately and run until February 12, 2010. The federal government will match dollar-for-dollar, any donations made to the Red Cross (and other registered charities) for this appeal until February 12th.
