Spectra Credit Union Wins Two National Marketing Awards

Alexandria, VA (April 2024) – Spectra Credit Union was recently honored with two national Diamond Awards from the Marketing & Business Development Council of America’s Credit Unions. The Diamond Awards recognize credit unions of all sizes for excellence in marketing initiatives from the previous year. This year's Diamond Awards marked a milestone, celebrating 30 years of excellence in credit union marketing. Awards are given in 35 categories, from product advertising to community events and beyond.

Spectra earned Diamonds for the following projects:

● Complete Campaign: Blossom Certificate Campaign

● Membership Marketing: Brilliant Kids Club

The Blossom Certificate campaign received a Diamond Award in the Complete Campaign category. In the springtime, just as the cherry blossoms emerged in Washington, DC, they sprouted a new campaign for certificates with the headline, “Big Savings Blossom Here.” Spectra offered to help member deposits bloom with a high rate 7- or 14-month certificate.

The Spectra Brilliant Kids Club won a Diamond Award in the Membership Marketing category. The Brilliant Kids Club directly supports the overall brand story for Spectra and provides a high-yield savings account for kids. Similar to the founders of the credit union who were scientists in the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), the kids’ club mascot, Iris (which means “rainbow” in Latin), is a Junior Scientist.
