Spectra Welcomes a New Chief Lending Officer

Spectra Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of James “Jim” Spedden as their new Chief Lending Officer.

Jim will join the credit union in this new position to continue the growth and success that the credit union has seen under CEO, Kristin Shultz.

“We are thrilled to have Jim join the Spectra team. His wealth of knowledge and experience is an invaluable asset, and we are excited to have him on board. We believe with Jim; we will be able to grow our lending department exponentially.” Said Spectra CEO, Kristin Shultz when asked about her new hire.

Jim comes to Spectra from Virginia National Bank (successor to The Fauquier Bank), where he was first joined as the Director of Commercial Banking, then became the Chief Credit Officer, and finally the Chief Lending Officer. Jim has been in the Virginia banking market since 1987, when he joined Wachovia Bank as the Vice President of Commercial Real Estate. In 1999, Jim joined PNC Bank as an S.V.P./Relationship Manager, Commercial Real Estate; then, in 2006, he moved into the S.V.P./Market Manager, Real Estate Banking. After Senior level positions at Sandy Spring Bank and M&T Bank, Jim joined The Fauquier Bank. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Finance and Human Resource Management from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and is involved in many community organizations.

When asked for a comment about his new position, Jim said, “I am excited to join Spectra Credit Union as the Chief Lending Officer. This is a great shop and a fantastic opportunity to build up and out the lending department. I am looking forward to my future with the credit union.”
